Responsibilities

  • Builds and maintains schedule, workflow, and budget for all content sourcing, finishing, and production activities after appropriate consultation with Content Project Manager.
  • Engages and manages content finishers (accuracy checking and copyediting) and production vendors to achieve schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Decides on suitable content review processes for all content types in collaboration with collaborators.
  • Successfully completes tasks that prepare quality content, including content updating, preparation, copyediting, and other content sourcing and preparation tasks.
  • Manages all components (Print, ebook, supplements, and online courses) associated with the proposals in adherence to the budget, quality rubric, and schedule.
  • Manages blocking issues effectively, identifying the root cause of the problem and implementing practical solutions.
  • Consistently shares schedule, quality, and budget updates with collaborators. Leads project launch meetings with the author & product team, production launch meetings, and status meetings.
  • Ensures that all Production specifications and schedules are kept current in business systems.
  • Ensures content meets accessibility compliance standards in collaboration with collaborators.
  • Ensures that content delivery follows accepted processes and standards for digital and print to ensure quality. Provides training and mentorship to authors and subject matter experts as needed.
  • Advances and manages potential risks to projects, including marketing and technology deliverables. Advances project risks as needed to collaborators, Content Project Manager, and Head, Content Production.
  • Resolves content bugs on products in the marketplace, applying in-house and external SME resources as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree.
  • 4-6 years of Books Project Management experience with strong Project Management skills. Digital project management experience is an added advantage.
  • Able to clearly communicate in Business English with the ability to translate information to and from collaborators and to report effectively to management.
  • Excellent computer skills, including with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and editing tools like Adobe Acrobat.
  • Collaborative, cooperative, service-oriented, and customer-focused outlook.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills; the ability to successfully manage multiple projects and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to embrace, assimilate, and implement new processes, procedures, and standards in an environment of continuous improvement and change.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.

Other Preference

  • Familiarity with content formats (HTML, XML) and other product platforms.
  • Proficiency with project management software (JIRA, MS Project, SmartSheet, Strong proficiency in MS Excel).

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location.  Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
