Description
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Project Management
  • Ensure assigned construction projects are completed according to company standards for time, cost, and quality.
  • Conduct regular field inspections to ensure contractor compliance with contract documents; take corrective actions as needed.
  • Review and approve contractors’ applications for payment per authorized contracts and purchase orders.
  • Schedule and coordinate store equipment and fixture setup activities to ensure timely occupancy, including:
    • Delivery and installation of equipment.
    • Utility connections and refrigeration startup.
    • Confirmation of occupancy licenses.
    • Coordination with operators for merchandise receipt.
  • Review and approve schedules for construction, equipment deliveries, inspections, and utility connections to facilitate operations setup and merchandising activities.
  • Execute disaster recovery plans for assigned areas.
Design & Construction Expertise
  • Provide design and construction expertise to operations and departments for maintenance and repair inquiries.
  • Oversee all aspects of design and construction activities for assimilation of acquisition stores within assigned area.
Vendor & Contractor Management
  • Assemble and approve contractor bidder lists for each assigned project.
  • Review qualifications and confirm interest of potential contractors.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of contractors, architects, and engineers at project completion; recommend changes to pre-qualified status based on evaluations.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Provide budget estimates for operations and departments during development of Division Annual Equipment Budget (AEB) forecast, including feasibility analysis and cost estimating.
Leadership & Training
  • Provide training and mentorship to less experienced construction professionals.
  • Participate in developing and administering department budgets, long-range resource planning, and alignment of resources with company development goals.
  • Identify and evaluate outsourcing opportunities.
  • Coordinate construction objectives with other company projects.
  • Lead continuous process improvement efforts.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Education
  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in General Business or related field.
Experience
  • 8+ years of business and significant consulting management experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of retail real estate, construction, store operations, and store equipment.
  • Ability to manage complex, high-profile projects and make decisions with high-level risk.
  • Exceptional market analysis and negotiation skills.
  • Strong management and leadership skills; ability to motivate and work through others to achieve results.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively plan, organize, and schedule activities.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to represent company interests to outside professionals and contractors.
Skills
  • Thorough knowledge of front-end work methods, fund handling, and scanning procedures.
  • Understanding of company scanning and price maintenance systems.
  • Previous retail store operations experience with strong background in scan coordination.
  • Complete knowledge of front-end company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment; strong relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in PC applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical ability.
Travel Requirements
  • Approximately 40% travel.
Physical Environment
  • Work primarily performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • May sit for long periods at a desk or computer terminal.
  • Use of calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment.
  • Occasional stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching required.
