The Drilling Lifecycle Services Manager will oversee the successful operation and continuous improvement of the Service Support Agreement for the West White Rose drilling asset. Acting as the primary interface between HMH’s team, the contractor, and the operating company, the Manager ensures delivery of safe, efficient, data-driven support services, optimization, and secure operations in accordance with HMH standards and client expectations

Job Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Collaboration
    • Lead the HMH “One Team” approach onsite and remotely, ensuring cross-discipline alignment and open, transparent communication between all parties.
    • Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly interactions with rig, onshore, and management teams, ensuring issues, learnings, and project status are efficiently tracked and communicated.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and proactive knowledge sharing.

  • 24/7 Support Oversight
    • Manage the provision of around-the-clock technical support through remote diagnostics, engaging Senior Support Engineers and leveraging the HMH Operational Support Center.
    • Oversee and coordinate escalation protocols for first, second, and third-line support to ensure rapid, effective problem resolution.

  • Maintenance & Performance Optimization
    • Supervise the continuous maintenance and monitoring program using DrillCon, Smartcert, and SeaLytics in compliance with relevant DNV and API standards.
    • Ensure regular performance assessments via the Performance Optimization Portal and DRILLPerform tools, maximizing operational efficiency and reducing ownership cost.
    • Collaborate with data analysts and specialists on health management, reliability analysis, vibration/oil analysis, and recertification activities.

  • Cyber Security & System Integrity
    • Champion application of HMH Cyber Security Services according to IEC 62443, including incident response, health checks, threat management, and disaster recovery planning.
    • Ensure that the Drilling Control and Monitoring System remains robustly secured at all times.

  • Customer Engagement & Onsite Support
    • Act as the main point of contact between HMH and the customer at the St. John’s site, facilitating smooth logistics, critical issue support, and clear communications on spares, certifications, and hardware requirements.
    • Oversee compliance with quality procedures, contract terms, and HMH’s reporting and analytics commitments.

Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline
  • 7+ years’ experience in drilling operations, technical support management, or lifecycle services; at least 3 years managing cross-functional teams in oil & gas or heavy industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience and leading organizations
  • Proven track record in performance optimization, maintenance program management, and/or operational support roles.
  • Strong familiarity with industry standards (DNV, API), and cyber security best practices (IEC 62443 preferred)
  • Ability to coordinate and lead multi-disciplinary teams and interface with clients at all levels.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.
