Reporting to the Project Director – Drilling Optimization, you will be part of the Drilling Excellence team. You will ensure that objectives are met while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, the health and safety code of conduct and the environment.

 

Specifically, you will\: 

  • Analyze opportunities for continuous improvement of drilling activities and participate in their implementation; 

  • Analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of work performed by drilling teams; 

  • Lead and participate in the various optimization activities of the Drilling Excellence team (failure analysis, reliability, predictive maintenance, etc.); 

  • Ensure the development of work teams; 

  • Keep abreast of new innovations and actively participate in the testing of new drilling technologies; 

  • Audit drilling activities at our different mining sites; 

  • Work with the drilling analyst to improve KPIs (develop action plans); 

  • Ensure that policies and procedures in your sector comply with occupational health and safety laws and regulations in the mining industry; 

  • Follow-up periodically with your supervisor, in writing and/or verbally, on information relating to ongoing and future work on equipment; 

  • Any other related tasks.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in surface and underground drilling; 

  • Supervisory experience; 

  • Possess leadership, good interpersonal skills, good communication skills and autonomy;  

  • Innovative spirit and desire to contribute to the advancement of the drilling industry; 

  • Modular Mine Worker Training (MMWT) and Common Core Training; 

  • Valid driver's license; 

  • Valid explosives license; 

  • Proficiency in Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.); 

  • Proficiency in the use of the French language;  

  • Proficiency in the use of the English language as you will be working in collaboration with other Agnico Eagle sites where English is the primary language. 

Your Work Schedule

  • Schedule\: 5-2 schedule, may vary depending on the projects 

  • Workplace\: The main office is located in Val-d’Or. Regular travel to our various mining sites is also expected.
