This position is within our ACIL (Auto, Corporate, Industry & Leisure) Tribe. The tribe, in a nutshell, focuses on high availability product for Dealership customers to buy and sell their inventory. This role is a 12-month Fixed term contract.

Job Description

What’ll you’ll be doing

We're looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to help us build and evolve our services. Your work here will directly influence user engagement and business growth.

• Lead multiple initiatives to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions.
• Drive engineering maturity: champion best practices, automation, and continuous improvement across teams.
• Mentor and coach engineers: foster growth, set standards, and build a culture of technical excellence.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to align technical direction with business goals.
• Architect and implement solutions ensuring reliability, performance, and security.
• Promote innovation: evaluate and introduce AI/ML capabilities where they add value.
• Own technical delivery: oversee code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
• Champion distributed systems and event-driven architectures for scale and resilience.
• Using your expertise in modern agile practices, you’ll contribute to planning, building and supporting great software solutions that deliver quality at scale, automating where possible.  

Qualifications

What we are looking for?

We build distributed systems using a wide range of tools and technologies. As a Tech Lead, you'll bring deep technical expertise and lead by example. You won’t need to know every tool we use, but strong experience in the following areas is essential:

• Proven experience leading engineering teams and initiatives.
• Expertise in .NET and front-end frameworks like Angular or ReactJS.
• Demonstrated experience with data-intensive storage and processing frameworks (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, Spark, EMR)
• Proven track record building event-driven and distributed systems.
• Experience with caching (e.g. Redis, in-memory) to support scale and speed.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS) and DevOps practices such as CI/CD, containers, and infrastructure as code.
• Skilled at applying appropriate engineering methods (e.g. modularisations, abstractions) that make assets tractable
• Passion for clean code, continuous improvement, and scalable design.
