Purpose of the Position
Assist in managing project activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to client specifications. The Assistant Project Manager supports the project management team by conducting takeoffs, preparing bid submittals and SOQs, and performing a variety of supporting tasks. The goal for this position is to transition to an Estimator/Project Manager who bids and estimates independently.
Essential Position Responsibilities
Physical activities: Typing on a keyboard; reading and verifying data, often in small print; sitting for up to 8 hours per day; talking on phone; may require visits to job sites resulting in exposure to hazards typical of a construction site
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Occasional utilization of hard hat, safety glasses, high visibility vest, steel toed footwear, half-face respirator.
Safety Sensitive: Yes
Travel: 10%
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a similar field.
Preferred Skill Set: Basic knowledge of project management principles and practices. Strong organizational and time management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in project management software and tools such as Bluebeam or Planswift. Ability to analyze and interpret data, solve problems, and make informed decisions.
