DescriptionJob Overview:
The M/LWD Field Engineer is responsible for the testing, operation, and maintenance of Measurement While Drilling (MWD) and Logging While Drilling (LWD) downhole tools at the rig site. The role includes data acquisition, quality control, and the generation of accurate logs and reports to ensure the highest level of service delivery to clients. All activities are performed in accordance with Weatherford’s policies, technical work instructions, engineering standards, and best practices. This is a field-based position requiring onshore and offshore assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Comply fully with all Weatherford safety rules, company policies, and QHSE requirements.
- Understand and adhere to Weatherford’s Quality Policy, Quality Systems Manual, operating procedures, technical procedures, and work instructions.
- Execute assigned tasks with a strong focus on service quality and operational excellence.
- Participate in daily operations and safety meetings, toolbox talks, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and promptly report any issues using appropriate reporting tools.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain MWD/LWD surface systems and downhole tools at the rig site.
- Interpret downhole data and communicate effectively with directional drillers, company representatives, and geologists.
- Generate daily client deliverables including logs, LAS files, and operational reports.
- Perform quality checks on final client deliverables prior to distribution.
- Maintain proactive and effective communication with rig crews and client personnel.
- Demonstrate a working understanding of basic rig operations.
- Rig up and rig down surface equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor, within the physical constraints of the role.
- Travel domestically and internationally and work in both onshore and offshore environments as required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (mandatory).
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant MWD/LWD field experience (level dependent).
- Hands-on experience with Rotary Steerable Tools (RST) is preferred.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
