Position Summary
This is skilled trades work installing, maintaining, inspecting, altering and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. OTHER REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION Knowledge of the installation, maintenance, inspection, alteration and repair of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Skill in installing, maintaining, inspecting, altering and repairing heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Ability to install, maintain, inspect, alter and repair heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Ability to use hand tools and power tools and equipment properly. Ability to read and clearly understand blueprints. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Ability to carry, erect, climb, and maneuver on ladders and/or scaffolds; work in tight and awkward spaces; work off ofroofs, cat walks, and other elevated areas. Ability to carry or otherwise move loads of 50 pounds or more (pipe, wire, tool boxes, etc.). Ability to understand and apply University rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and within extreme temperature ranges. Visual ability, corrected, to observe people and/or vehicles moving through the work area in order to redirect work orequipment to avoid injuries to the people or damage to the vehicles. Ability to communicate information effectively, in English, both verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
