TITLE: HVAC Trades Worker Refrigeration Mechanic

SALARY: Payband J, starting rate $42.56 per hour 

HOURS: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm

HOURS PER WEEK: 40

LOCATION: 160 Kendal Avenue

STATUS: Full Time Support 

EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediately

Key Responsibilities:

  • Involved in operation, installation, maintenance and/or repair of buildings, equipment, systems and facilities. This includes effective operation and repair of heating, ventilation cooling, refrigeration and humidity control systems and components. Components include items such as boilers, pumps, fans, heat pumps, condensers, chillers, cooling towers, etc. and their controls.
  • Assists fellow members of the department or outside contractors as required.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • Certificate of Qualifications as Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic-Certificate 313A.
  • Gas Technician 1 Certificate and Ozone Depleting Products (ODP) Card is required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Refrigeration/HVAC Mechanic in a commercial or industrial setting, Post – Apprenticeship.

Interview process may consist of a practical skills component.
