Job Description

Renewable Pathway Programme 

Wind & Solar Development Team – Paid Internship 
Start Date: September 2025 

As part of our Wind & Solar Development Team, you’ll work alongside experienced Project Managers and in-house specialists on real, impactful projects. With over 50 people in Development and 300+ colleagues across the UK in construction, operations, and market trading, you’ll be joining a team that’s shaping the future of energy. 

Some of the aspects you can expect to gain hands-on experience in: 

  • Identifying and assessing new sites for renewable energy projects 
  • Supporting planning applications and preparing sites for construction 
  • Understanding the planning, grid, and commercial aspects of project development 
  • Communicating with statutory bodies and local communities 
  • Tracking policy and legislative changes 
  • Conducting technical research and reporting 

The Details 

  • Contract: One-year, full-time paid internship 
  • Start Date: September 2025 
  • Location: Glasgow or London (minimum three days in the office, flexible working available) 
  • Progression: While the programme does not guarantee a permanent role, you’ll be welcome to apply for internal or external vacancies that arise during the year.

Qualifications

Who We’re Looking For 

You’ve graduated in the last three years (or are about to), and you’re looking for your first paid role in the renewable energy industry. You might have studied: 

  • Geography, GIS, Environmental or Earth Sciences 
  • Renewable Energy 
  • Planning 
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 

You’re confident using MS Office, fluent in English, and have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the programme. You’ll also need to be open to occasional travel across the UK, including to rural project locations and between offices.

  • Passionate about protecting the environment and building a sustainable future 
  • Curious, collaborative, and eager to learn
