DescriptionAlaro City is a joint venture between Rendeavour, the largest new city and industrial park builder in Africa, and the Lagos State Government. RequirementsIrrigation Design & Management
- Design, review, and optimize irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, sub-surface, smart irrigation, etc.) All over Alaro City.
- Prepare irrigation layouts, zones, hydraulic calculations, and system specifications.
- Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of irrigation systems.
- Monitor system performance and implement water-efficiency improvements.
- Manage schedules for irrigation operation based on seasons, planting phases, and weather conditions.
Landscape Construction Support
- Assist in managing landscape construction projects from design interpretation to execution.
- Coordinate irrigation works with softscape and hardscape construction activities.
- Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals related to irrigation and landscape works.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, and quality standards.
- Support project handover from construction to maintenance.
Landscape Maintenance Operations
- Support the planning and execution of landscape maintenance contracts and in-house operations.
- Supervise maintenance teams for irrigation, planting, turf, and shrubs.
- Develop and monitor maintenance schedules, checklists, and SOPs.
- Ensure timely repair of irrigation leaks, blockages, damaged lines, and control systems.
- Monitor plant health related to irrigation performance and soil conditions.
Team & Contractor Management
- Supervise irrigation technicians, foremen, and landscaping teams.
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and service providers.
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to staff.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Budgeting & Reporting ·
- Assist in preparing budgets for irrigation systems, maintenance works, and upgrades.
- Track material usage, spare parts, and consumables.
- Prepare regular technical and progress reports for management.
- Support procurement processes related to irrigation and landscaping materials
REQUIREMENTS
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Irrigation Engineering from a reputable university
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in irrigation and landscape operations.
- Proven experience in both landscape construction projects and long-term maintenance.
- Experience working on large-scale developments, cities, resorts, or mixed-use developments is a strong advantage.
Technical Skills
- ·Strong knowledge of irrigation system design and hydraulics.
- Experience with pumps, controllers, valves, filtration systems, and water management strategies.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape and irrigation drawings.
- Knowledge of tropical plants, turf, soil conditions, and water requirements.
- Familiarity with sustainable landscape and water-saving practices.
