Job Summary:
The IT Project Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. This role involves directing project teams, managing budgets, enforcing work standards, and serving as the primary liaison between stakeholders, including contracting officials and technical staff. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience with SQL, and a background in managing IT projects in a structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead cross-functional IT project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with contract requirements.
Enforce quality control standards and resolve work discrepancies to maintain compliance.
Serve as the primary point of contact for contracting officials, clients, and senior leadership.
Provide oral and written status reports, including risk assessments, progress updates, and performance metrics.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, government regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS), and organizational policies.
Utilize SQL to create and execute queries for data analysis, reporting, and system validation.
Collaborate with technical teams to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and optimize IT solutions.
Oversee system integrations, software deployments, and infrastructure upgrades.
Direct and mentor project staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and deadlines.
Assign tasks, monitor performance, and facilitate professional development for team members.
Manage vendor relationships, procurement, and resource allocation.
Required Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Must have 5+ years of IT project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
Should have 1+ year of hands-on SQL experience (writing queries, data extraction, reporting).
Experience with government contracts (preferred) or regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance).
PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management). Nice to have.
Agile/Scrum certifications (CSM, SAFe) if applicable. Nice to have.
Proficiency in Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar PM tools.
Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
