Description

This role is a senior-level position that requires a highly skilled, motivated professional who embodies Redland’s values and demonstrates leadership in technical expertise, project ownership, and professional judgment. This position is responsible for managing projects from visioning through construction, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and guiding clients and stakeholders to achieve creative and high-quality project outcomes. The role also includes mentoring junior staff, contributing to business development initiatives, and advancing the firm’s design excellence while meeting schedule and budget goals.

This position requires the following requirements at a minimum, responsibilities may evolve over time, and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Overseeing projects from project visioning to master planning, site design, and construction, including coordination of subconsultants, internal teams, and research activities such as site analysis and data collection.
  • Directing preparation of landscape architectural deliverables including graphic exhibits, concept plans, construction plans, project details, and specifications.
  • Facilitating and leading work sessions with clients, technical advisory groups, and stakeholders during project phases.
  • Managing multiple projects concurrently at various stages while ensuring design integrity, consistency, and quality.
  • Participating in the project entitlement process, coordinating with review agencies, addressing plan review comments, and representing the project in key meetings.
  • Providing technical oversight and conducting quality assessments of deliverables to ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and compliance with standards.
  • Actively managing project budgeting, staffing, and workflow to achieve schedule, budget, and quality goals.
  • Supervising and mentoring associates by offering constructive feedback, delegating tasks, and promoting accountability.
  • Providing leadership and direction as a technical expert and advisor while fostering team growth through mentorship and professional development initiatives.
  • Supporting business development by engaging in client networking, project scouting, and proposal preparation.
  • Performing other responsibilities as required to support project and firm success.

Salary: $100,000 to $125,000 plus bonus opportunities, Depending on experience.



Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Possessing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture from a LAAB or LAAC accredited curriculum, or six years of combined landscape architecture curriculum and/or landscape architecture work experience.
  • Active Landscape Architecture license in the State of Colorado, or eligibility for reciprocity.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in landscape architecture.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of demonstrated experience managing project teams and consultants.
  • Possessing working knowledge of landscape architectural and land planning practices, including site planning, layout, grading, hardscape, planting, and irrigation.
  • Experience with large-scale master-planned development projects preferred.
  • Site land planning experience a plus.

Technical Knowledge & Software Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of landscape architectural practices and principles, including conceptual design through construction documents.
  • Proficiency in site planning, site layout and detailing, hardscape, grading, planting, and irrigation design.
  • Strong knowledge of regional plant materials.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Land F/X, Microsoft Office Suite, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Project Understanding & Work Ethic

  • Familiarity with the approval and entitlement process for land development projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy, detail, and completeness.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and accountable in managing tasks and resolving challenges.

Physical Requirements

  • This position works in-person at our office in Littleton, Colorado.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer workstation.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
