WHAT WILL YOU DO? 

Expect the unexpected. You'll plan and prepare for proactive repairs and maintenance while being ready for anything that pops up and needs attention right away. You'll balance your skillful hand with a playful attitude, ensuring all our machinery and equipment is in top-notch shape. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be a key member of our maintenance crew, which is a small, but kick-ass team. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform and document preventative maintenance on all processing, packaging, and ancillary equipment.
  • Support problem solving, resolution of machine and equipment issues, and reliability improvements. 
  • Maintain machine standards of operation in accordance with baseline hardware and software installation, measurements and equipment standard set up manual. 
  • Execute corrective, predictive and preventative maintenance procedures to ensure a high level of machine utilization and low scrap level. 
  • Assist with continuous improvement of equipment, process safety and reliability program. 
  • Perform rebuild and verification testing of worn spare parts and equipment. 
  • Assist in spare parts cycle count and the inventory organization as needed. 
  • Assist with the equipment set up and change over process. 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Maintenance shop.
  • Ensure a high level of health and safety of personnel and care of the property, equipment and product under your control. 
  • Follow all health and safety protocols for the facility.
  • Assist maintenance technicians and other team members when required. 
  • Collaborate with other teammates to continually complete objectives. 
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned. 
QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Currently enrolled in a recognized Industrial Millwright apprenticeship program (Level 1-3).
  • Actively pursuing Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) Red Seal/ Journeyperson certification. 
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing industry and ass-et.
  • Basic knowledge and aptitude in mechanical and electrical systems (motor circuits, VFDs, servos, PLCs , single and three phase electrical). 
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints, schematics and equipment documentation. 
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tool application, operation and use. 
  • Certified to operate a fork/ scissor lift, or willing to be trained. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and able to withstand periods of physically demanding and repetitive work. 
  • Willing to work at heights and in confined spaces. 
  • Willing to wear either a full-face respirator or half face respirator with filter, including meeting the requirement to ensure a proper seal (aka, a clean-shaven face where it contacts the skin).
  • A valid BC driver’s license is an ass-et.

OTHER INFORMATION

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • This is an on-site position located in Invermere, BC.
  • This is a full-time, permanent position in our Maintenance department, working 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, with a half-hour paid lunch break.
  • The hourly range for this role is $26.00 - $32.80 per hour.
