This full-time, permanent Mechanical Engineering – Custom Equipment Project Lead opportunity is with a well-established, family-owned custom machine builder that has been a trusted name in the industry for nearly 100 years. The company manufactures complex custom machinery used across a variety of industries including energy, automotive, plumbing, and electrical. With a two-year customer order backlog and a deep bench of experienced engineers and machinists, the organization prides itself on a collaborative, stable, and innovation-driven culture. Many employees have tenures of 20+ years, and the company maintains a high bar for engineering excellence.

The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate should include the following:

• Estimating and quoting custom machine builds for metal cutting, drilling, tapping, and related operations
• Collaborating with the engineering team to develop initial machine concepts based on customer specifications
• Managing projects from concept through production and delivery
• Communicating regularly with customers and occasionally traveling to customer sites
• Interpreting engineering drawings, reviewing costs, and validating manufacturability

The background of the successful candidate must include the following:

• 2+ years of experience in machine quoting / design with custom machine building / machine tool experience
• The ability to read engineering drawings and communicate effectively both in writing and verbally
• A solid work history
• A US citizen or possess a green card
• A residence within 45 minutes
