General description:
- Consolidate and strengthen all technical communication and coordination between HQ Engineering and China suppliers/partners, to minimize asymmetry of information exchange and to mitigate risks of technology and quality.
- Create and concrete a strong technical team with capabilities and resources not only to give comprehensive support for Homologation process, also to maximize and extract local suppliers & partners’ successful experiences to adapt to homologation optimization and upgrading.
- Continuously improve and build the quality and capabilities of the technical team to provide technical support for the Group‘s global cost reduction strategy and sustainable development.
Responsibilities:
1. Technical support on mechanical components and Drive train support including and not limited to bearings.
2. Ability to translate the technical issues into a business case and support Sourcing on the continuous improvements.
3. Act as one voice towards the global organization on the technical issues and be a contact interface with Bearing Engineering & CPS (Customer Project Support).
4. Creating high level technical reports i.e., root cause analysis, inspection & Serious incident report if need.
5. Escalate and work with technology team to approve the cost out ideas for the implementation.
6. Participate in various forums, drive and contribute in various cost out ideas and Turbine availability drivers.
7. Data collection, analysis and deriving projects for driving down cost and increasing the availability.
8. Managing technical projects.
9. Support vendor qualification/evaluation.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10-15 years of technical experience.
2. Fluent in English.
3. Wind turbine knowledge/experience preferred.
4. Project Management experience or technical team leadership preferred.
5. Proven expertise in the engineering of bearings, with solid experiences on bearings design, produce, functional testing, reliability testing, field testing and certification.
6. Candidates with a mechanical background specializing in drivetrain especially bearings, along with relevant professional experience in industrial maintenance and R&D, will be favored.
7. Comfortable in working within multi-cultural and multi-national team.
8. Strong communication skills, a high technical proficiency, and excellent proficiency in English are essential.
9. Innovative analytical and problem-solving capabilities are desired.
10. The ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a challenging environment is crucial.
11. Outstanding Time/Project Management skills are expected.
