The Prince George’s County Housing Authority is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Modernization Construction Project Manager (Contract Project Coordinator 3), grade A24 position, in the Public Housing & Asset Management Division.
About the Position
This position represents a vital role in senior-level professional office and field engineering, along with crucial administrative responsibilities. The selected candidate will play a key part in reviewing engineering and architectural plans and specifications, which are essential to monitoring County construction projects. This role not only evaluates construction-related challenges but also drives the timely and efficient completion of these projects. Incumbents are expected to lead and inspire subordinate contract project coordinators, fostering teamwork and accountability in achieving their objectives. The job entails extensive collaboration and communication with various County organizations and private firms, making it essential for ensuring successful construction operations. All tasks are conducted in alignment with established departmental and County policies and procedures, under the guidance of a technical superior. Performance will be rigorously evaluated based on criteria such as timeliness, accuracy, and full compliance with established guidelines, rules, and regulations, ensuring that every assignment is executed with the utmost professionalism and dedication..
About the Agency
The Housing Authority of Prince George’s County, Maryland (HAPGC) provides Prince George’s County residents with low-to-moderate incomes with safe, decent, and affordable housing. The HAPGC receives federal funds directly from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to administer the Housing Choice Voucher program (HCV) and Public Housing Programs. Most of the affordable housing assistance is in the form of rental units that must meet rigorous housing quality standards. The HAPGC also provides its participant families with programs that encourage them to become self-sufficient which may potentially lead to homeownership opportunities. The Housing Assistance Division (HAD) and Housing Choice Voucher Division (HCVD) administer and implement the federal rental assistance and public housing programs for the County.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Construction Management and Contract Administration.
Good verbal and written communication skills (interaction with supervisors, agencies, organizations, communities, and contractors is required).
Must be competent with use of computers, including Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint and Excel.
