Position Summary:

The Origination Analyst provides support and assistance to the Origination and Commercial Operations teams in their effort to grow and maintain the business. This position involves maintaining market and origination data in collaboration with team members and other TPS business units, performing data analysis, and providing executive-level reporting on business results. The analyst also supports various front office activities and projects, aiding both current customers and new business opportunities. Additionally, the role includes developing and managing projects related to business unit and TPS’s enterprise systems to support the maintenance and integration of business activity and market data.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain and analyze data to generate comprehensive informational reports related to TPS’s current and prospective customers, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Develop and maintain Power Platform data models, reports, and applications using Power Apps and Power BI to support business operations and decision-making.
  • Create and distribute detailed reports for internal and external customers, covering business activity, market trends, and operational performance.
  • Assist the origination team in preparing both solicited and unsolicited bids and proposals for potential customers, ensuring thoroughness and competitiveness.
  • Provide exceptional support services to customers for commercial and operational tasks, including after-hours support when necessary to meet customer needs.
  • Facilitate procurement, logistics, and accounting tasks related to customers' operational activities, including working with third-party vendors and service providers.
  • Work with large data sets to produce insightful information reports for the Origination team, aiding in strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Contribute to new business development efforts and project opportunities by providing analytical support and market insights.
  • Coordinate the communication of TPS’s services by preparing detailed proposals, presentations, and marketing materials for prospective and existing customers.
  • Gather and analyze current power market feedback, conduct market analyses, and evaluate competitive market landscapes to inform business strategies.
  • Examine broader market fundamentals, including policy drivers, financial incentives, business strategies, and industry trends, to provide strategic insights.
  • Ensure dependable, reliable, and predictable attendance to maintain consistent support and collaboration with the team.

 

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Engineering, Business (Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Economics), or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Capable of participating in and leading discussions with senior and executive-level management
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with team members, internal customers, and external parties
  • Strong data analysis and visualization (Power BI, Excel, etc.) skills
  • Experience with data models and low code development applications (Power Apps, etc.)
  • Energy industry experience a plus
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Financial acumen and ability to understand complex financial models
  • Able to manage projects with limited guidance
  • Openness to change and ability to adapt to rapidly changing markets, policies, and business directions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, analytical mindset, and questioning attitude
  • Proactive approach toward identifying and solving problems
  • Strong work ethic, team attitude, and willingness to work extended hours
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including the MS Word, and PowerPoint
