Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Project Manager (Principal). If you are a dynamic professional with a background in the built environment and extensive experience in managing complex projects, we invite you to consider this exciting opportunity. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple complex projects and programs as the key client interface.
  • Manage cost, commercial matters, quality, resourcing, scheduling, and technical matters during the project lifecycle to meet client's requirements.
  • Compile and review contracts and agreements (JBCC, GCC, NEC, FIDIC).
  • Build and maintain external stakeholder relationships through networking, ongoing communication, and pitching ideas.
  • Project and Programme Management, Contract Administration.
  • Manage multi-disciplinary professional service providers.
  • Co-ordinate and integrate activities internally and externally.
  • Source new work and negotiate contracts with clients.
  • Provide technical advice to clients, especially regarding infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation for planning and implementing infrastructure and housing projects.
  • Budgeting and maximizing sustainable revenue streams.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum BSc, Beng, or BTech qualification in the Built Environment degree.
  • Project Management related qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Postgrad in Project Management, Business, or Legal related studies will be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience, with at least 5 years' experience in complex building and/or infrastructure projects.
  • Professional registration as a Construction Project Manager with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) required.

Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of and experience in the built environment, planning processes, statutory approval processes in obtaining development rights, and government policies.
  • Experience leading and managing multi-disciplinary professional teams, including mentoring junior staff members.
  • Experience in compiling and submitting tenders and proposals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Salary negotiable based on the candidate's qualifications and years of relevant experience.
