About PD
As Purchasing Development, we purchase the materials and the production capacity to produce both home furnishing products and food. We have more than 1,200 co-workers global wide and operates in 27 locations, this includes 6 category areas and Wood Supply & Forestry.
About you
We are looking for people with solid knowledge & experiences of production processes and technologies, you have capability to evaluate the suppliers technical and quality performance to produce products, genuinely interested in understanding the reality of production and continuous improvements.
You have ability to make decisions and solve problems with holistic view.
High energy and self-driven way of working to deliver better products for the many people by working together with the suppliers and co-workers in IKEA.
• You will lead the engineering and quality implementation/industrialization of new materials as well as improvement of existing range to secure quality and compliance to all requirements.
• You will contribute to the development projects from a technical perspective, with competence in, material, production, quality and customer expectations
• You will develop and improve existing materials and technologies that long term will improve the performance, durability, cost effectiveness and sustainability of the materials
• You will secure usage of standards when possible and/or standardization of existing and proven materials
• You will lead product deviation process, secure root-cause analysis, implementation of corrective and preventive actions, all with a sense of urgency towards the causing part and where you capture learning from previous product deviations
• You will secure implementation of new and updated requirements
• Since the role has a global responsibility it will require approximately 100 days of travelling per year
• You have a solid experience and deep knowledge of the Plastic industry
• You have very good knowledge of the product requirements, standards and test methods
• You have the ability to make decisions and solve problems with a holistic view – always act with customer, supplier and total IKEA in mind
• You have capability to lead projects and secure implementation
• You know how to build and maintain business relations
• You are a good communicator in English and Mandarin, both written and verbal with the ability to communicate clearly and in a simple way
• You respect values and stand by your opinions
