About the Position
The Project Manager will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to Atlantic clients including top clients that have a national presence. The position will deal with all aspects of client service on a proactive and professional basis.
Specific Responsibilities
Act as the primary contact for assigned clients and act as backup for Project Manager absences;
Provide training for Small Client Project Managers and log-in staff for cash clients;
Provide any required sampling and handling information/instructions to clients with the ability to make test method recommendations;
Receive and respond to client calls, emails, quotes, and requests for information within Client Services guidelines and client timeframes;
Maintain familiarity with industry and government regulations;
Prepare invoices and process payments to client specifications;
Preparing complete sample bottle request forms and pre-filled Chain of Custody;
Meet with clients on a regular basis according to the goals set out by ALS Management, including the coordination and participation in lunch and learns, and client events;
Maintain a regular schedule of depot visits as determined by the Client Service Manager;
Reviewing and finalizing all aspects of client reports to ensure client specifications are met;
Prepare, issue, and follow up on quotes and pricing with clients;
Communicating any special client requests to Laboratory staff;
Review, follow up, and communicate current TAT with staff and clients including late file notifications;
Adhere to ALS Client Services Guidelines as provided in the Client Service Manual and National and Local Standard Procedures including Quality procedures;
Knowledge of ALS literature including price lists, statements of qualifications, one-pagers, and marketing tools;
Issue rechecks and corrective actions reports for work submitted;
Ensure timely completion and transmission of final and draft client reports;
Provide direction, information and specifics on client samples and projects to appropriate laboratory, sample management and office services staff;
Observes established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures; and,
Other duties assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong customer service focus, interpersonal and organizational abilities;
Pleasant and professional telephone manner;
Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal; and,
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Required Qualifications
Completion of Grade 12;
Minimum of 2 years office related experience;
Completion of an office administration or scientific certificate or diploma preferred.
Physical Demands
Ability to stand, walk or sit for an extended period of time;
Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction;
Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers (ex. using a keyboard);
Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities;
You may be exposed to unpleasant odours; and,
Please note that after hours and weekend work could be a possibility in specific circumstances.
