Description

RETTEW is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager 2 to join our Municipal Team as a municipal client representative. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven project management experience, and a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions. This role requires excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency with project management software and tools.


Responsibilities:


- Lead and manage municipal engineering projects from inception to completion.

- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets.

- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project objectives are met.

- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful project delivery.

- Prepare and present project reports and updates to clients and management.

- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.

- Collaborate with municipal personnel, elected and appointed officials, community leaders, and residents to assess problems from multiple angles and develop solutions.

- Engage in lifelong learning to maintain knowledge on contemporary issues and advancements in the field.

- Act as an extension of municipal staff, providing support during hiring gaps and training new hires.

- Develop plans for ordinances, zoning, utilities, roadways, parks, and other municipal infrastructure.

- Study regional and local demographics, growth statistics, population density, transportation modes, and environmental conditions to inform planning decisions.

- Attend night meetings as required.


Requirements:


- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field from an accredited program required.

- Certification or ability to obtain preferred.

- Minimum of eight years’ relevant experience, including internships.

- Minimum of four years of experience as a project manager.

- Strong computer skills and proficiency with project management software and tools.

- Excellent communication, organizational, presentation, and problem-solving skills.

- Experience in municipal planning, including comprehensive planning, ordinance preparation, and zoning approvals.

- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Excels in a fast-paced environment.
