Project Manager
Our Frederick, MD business unit is growing! We are looking for a Project Manager to lead technical project activities related to the power generation and distribution simulation industry. You will be responsible for providing the schedule, cost, performance and customer management of multiple concurrent projects, including project performance, developing cost proposals, managing project plans, budgets, and schedules, and ensuring the resolution of complex engineering problems. As the Project Manager, you will work collaboratively with the engineering manager to assign resources and direct the work of Technicians, Associate Engineers, Staff Engineers, Senior Engineers.

Salary Information: $108,00 - 155,000 annually, plus bonus

Your Challenge:
Manage all phases of project management: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring, Control and Closure.
Analyze project requirements, capacity, cost, and customer needs to develop project plan and budget for multiple concurrent simulation projects
Develop technical and cost proposals and related documents
Execute project plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing project needs and requirements
Identify resources requirements and assign individual responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operational aspects of multiple, projects and scope, including tracking team hours and expenses, maintaining contract documents, and ensuring contract requirements are met.
Manage and minimize risk exposure on project
Analyze project profitability, revenue, margins, and resource utilization
Generate and maintain stakeholder project status reports to management regarding project performance against schedule, risk assessment, and cost performance using earned value management
Determine appropriate revenue recognition, ensure timely and accurate invoicing
Follow up with customers, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices
Provide task prioritization for the engineering staff
Your Expertise:
8+ years of developing and/or leading development of technical projects within the power plant industry or related industry
BS or equivalent in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical (power focus) Engineering, Physics, Project Management, or a related discipline or equivalent
Outstanding planning, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
Demonstrated leadership background and experience, promoter of teamwork, a team player and ability to manage all aspects of full scope simulator projects
Excellent written and verbal communication, Strategic Planner, Team Leader, Action Oriented, Ability to deal with Ambiguity, Data Driven Decision Making, Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Peer Relationships, Decisive Planning and Execution.
Ability to critically analyze schedules and budgets, and to communicate and identify risks and implement mitigation plans to achieve customer commitments
Experience leading predictive projects (waterfall) is required, experience with Agile/Hybrid project management
Preferred:
Project related financial experience and experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
Familiarity in the following areas: systems modeling (mechanical, electrical fluid systems), object-oriented programming, script languages, signal processing, and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), I/O systems and interfaces
Familiarity in MATLAB/Simulink and/or other simulation environments
