GENERAL DUTIES

Coordinates the work of all contractors and trades on a project:

  • Creates and maintains contractor ID badges and sign in/out sheets for all construction projects and all service personnel performing repair work for the hospital.
  • Serves as a liaison between hospital, architects, engineers, and contractors for design, construction, and engineering needs on current and future projects.

Manages and maintains project designs:

  • Prepares, reviews, and revises drawings and specifications as required for projects.
  • Devises procedures and plans to achieve ultimate goals involving non-standard and unusual situations.
  • Maintains project status reporting and ensures all project needs are identified, performed, and documented.

Ensures a safe environment during the entire project:

  • Interprets architectural and/or engineering blueprints in all disciplines to the extent that installation of new equipment or disruption of existing services can be analyzed as to its impact on hospital services and operations, both critical and non-critical.

Ensures that regulatory standards and codes are met:

  • Monitors and implements any measures to meet all regulatory standards and codes.
  • Stays abreast and knowledgeable of applicable federal, state, and local building standards and codes.

Develops and implements plans to forecast operational expenses and capital outlays:

  • Assists in the preparation of operational and capital budgets, construction, and renovation projects and ensures forecasts are maintained within approved parameters.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

Appropriate combination of education and work experience is required:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 2 (two) years of construction management and supervisory experience.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of principles and practices of project management, business administration, financial principles and practices, human resource management principles and practices, electrical and mechanical systems, procurement and contracts.
  • Sound knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Strong knowledge in construction, maintenance, and all facets of facility operation.
  • Solid computer and systems knowledge.
