About the opportunity
The Learning Innovation Office (LIO) plays a pivotal role in advancing the University of Sydney Business School education agenda. It brings together contemporary education design, media and digital capability, and a strong focus on an outstanding student experience to support the development of scalable, high-impact programs for modern learners across a portfolio of future-focused initiatives.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to play a key role in supporting the delivery of strategic initiatives within the Business School. Working closely with key stakeholders, you will lead the coordination, planning and execution of project activities to ensure milestones, timelines and strategic objectives are met.
In this role, you will apply your expertise in project leadership, stakeholder communication and strategic planning to drive successful outcomes while ensuring a positive and engaging experience for staff and partners across the initiative.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
work closely with the Chief Learning Innovation Officer, project leads and key stakeholders to provide clear updates on progress, risks and delivery outcomes
manage the full project life cycle for assigned strategic initiatives, including planning, delivery, risk management and reporting
guide project leads and stakeholders to ensure consistent definition of project phases, objectives, timelines and deliverables
oversee the procurement, allocation and effective use of project resources and information technology
provide operational and administrative coordination, including documentation and reporting processes
lead and support staff across multiple work streams, fostering collaboration, accountability and sustainable ways of working.
About you

tertiary qualifications or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience
certification in a recognised project management discipline such as PRINCE2, MSP, PMP, PMI or PMBOK
experience in strategic, operational and financial planning, including implementation and monitoring of business performance
strong project and change management experience, with understanding of financial, change and procurement management within a project environment
excellent program and project lifecycle knowledge, including planning, documentation, standards and methodologies
ability to work effectively in a matrix environment with strong negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship‑building and influencing capability.

Include the context, your role, scope and timeline, key dependencies, how you managed risks, issues, and change, and the outcome and lessons learned
provide an example of coordinating stakeholders across a university environment, including executive leadership, academic staff, professional services teams, and external vendors. Explain how you prioritised stakeholders, balanced competing needs, built alignment, and measured success.
