Position Summary
The North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist ( NCCPSS ) Program is seeking a Project Manager to lead the implementation of a standardized peer support training curriculum and workforce initiatives aimed at strengthening the Certified Peer Support Specialist ( CPSS ) workforce. This role will oversee the delivery of core certification training and continuing education programs, ensuring that curriculum content remains current, relevant, and aligned with best practices. The Project Manager will also lead the development and implementation of specialized training initiatives in key areas such as justice involvement, crisis response, and other priority topics. In addition, the position will provide expert guidance on Medicaid policies, behavioral health service delivery models, and reimbursement procedures. The Project Manager will provide technical assistance to community organizations that offer or plan to offer peer support services, particularly those supported by state or Medicaid funding. Responsibilities also include tracking training data, managing training schedules, reviewing course observation reports, and supporting ongoing program improvement. This role will supervise staff and consultants involved in training delivery and lead the development of a statewide peer support job board while coordinating workforce development strategies to enhance and expand CPSS capacity across North Carolina.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
* Experience working with persons recovering from severe mental illness and substance use disorders. * Have an NC Drivers License * Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
* Preferred master’s in social work or a related field. * Experience working with NC Behavioral Health system and Medicaid. * Experience in project management * Experience in setting up behavioral health service organization * A deep commitment to family-centered practice, disability rights and collaborative approaches to systems change. * Strong preference for lived experience as a parent or family member of an individual who has disabilities. * Ability to occasionally travel in and out-of-state.
