Background
The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) – Jerusalem Program is seeking a proactive and innovative Project Manager to oversee the implementation of the Gaza Cancer Care Capacity Project. The position will play a critical role in promoting the right to health, particularly through advancing access to specialized cancer care for the population of Gaza.
The position is based at Augusta Victoria Hospital (AVH), which, as part of the LWF World Service Jerusalem Program, is implementing a multi-year initiative titled “Developing Cancer Care Capacity in the Gaza Strip.” which is funded by Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe, other partners and implemented in cooperation with the Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza. This project pools technical expertise, medical infrastructure, and human resources to strengthen local capacity in oncology services. While the war in Gaza has significantly affected project implementation, the LWF remains committed to delivering this life-saving initiative under evolving conditions.
Position Overview
The Project Manager will ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the Gaza Cancer Care Capacity Project — both programmatically and administratively. The role involves day-to-day coordination with Gaza-based partners, AVH medical staff, donors, and key stakeholders, while also advancing key messages to promote access to health care and support humanitarian response mechanisms.
