About the Quality Engineer
The Quality Engineer is responsible for adhering to the Quality Management System which includes identifying and complying with ISO compliant activities, employing LEAN processes, and coordinating assessment activities with 3rd parties, ensuring standardized quality checks on our materials and products as they relate to required legal and company standards for safety and quality are completed, maintaining calibrated test equipment, preparing test data, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions, and identifying areas for improvement within company processes.

The Quality Engineer Impact
The Quality Engineer demonstrates strong working-knowledge of quality control processes, ISO and LEAN concepts, industrial technical concepts, excellent data management skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams. This person should also possess a strong understanding of how to create processes that maximize efficiency and effectiveness as well as identify and implement opportunities for improvement. Ultimately, the Quality Engineer will be responsible for implementing and adhering to processes that support a strong customer focus and effective execution of the company’s quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
· Support and performs detailed evaluations and inspections to ensure goods and services comply with company standards as well as any customer requirements for specific product builds. Inspections and evaluations include Incoming, WIP, Final Inspections, and collaborating with Operations in troubleshooting operational issues.
· Identifies, creates and implements processes that support an ISO compliant quality management system
· Implements and supports initiatives that establish and improve efficiency and effectiveness throughout the organization as part of the company quality objectives
· Manages supplier First Article and Certificate of Conformance Compliance in collaboration with Procurement
· Manages and conducts Defective Material Review Board process that supports timely resolution of nonconformances, implementation of internal and supplier corrective actions, and analysis of failure modes
· Supports Operations and Engineering through detailed evaluations of products and components to ensure compliance and/or troubleshoot operational issues.
· Completes failure mode and corrective action analysis for customer complaints and shall include trend analysis for failures, corrective actions, inspection results and other metrics.
· Maintains the company’s calibration system across all organizational departments
· Supports the documentation and reporting for safety and environmental programs such as job hazard analysis and job safety training
Requirements
Experience/Education
• 5-8+ years’ experience in a Quality Engineering Role
• Must have Experience in Technical Manufacturing environments that are ISO certified
• Associate’s Degree required. Batchelor’s a plus
• LEAN / Six Sigma Certification / Training is preferred
• Familiarity with OSHA requirements
Skills/Qualifications
• Strong understanding and implementation skills for quality principles (pareto / statistical process controls and analysis, root cause investigation, systemic corrective actions)
• Strong experience in delivering collaborative results among cross-functional environments and multiple facilities including International
• Understanding of advanced mathematical concepts.
• Must be able to use measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gages, etc.)
• Technical Manufacturing experience – electrical applications preferred
• Must be able to read blueprints and other technical specifications
• Advanced organizational skills.
• Experience drafting reports, collating data and interpreting results.
