Refrigeration Mechanic

A well-established industrial company is looking for an experienced Refrigeration Mechanic with strong expertise in ammonia-based refrigeration systems to join their team in Mafikeng, North West. The ideal candidate must hold the necessary certifications and demonstrate hands-on experience in industrial refrigeration maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on refrigeration systems

• Diagnose and repair faults in ammonia refrigeration units

• Ensure systems operate safely and efficiently

• Maintain compliance with safety and environmental regulations

• Complete service reports and maintain maintenance records

• Monitor system performance and recommend improvements

• Assist with installation and commissioning of new refrigeration equipment

• Ensure proper stock levels of parts and refrigerants are maintained

Requirements:

• Valid Ammonia Category B license

• Recognised Refrigeration Mechanic Trade Certificate

• Prior experience working with ammonia-based systems

• Ability to work independently and respond to breakdowns

• Strong problem-solving skills
