Job Role

As a Project Manager – Qualitative Research, you will be responsible for end-to-end execution of custom qualitative research projects. You will lead multiple studies with ownership over timelines, quality, and client communication. This includes designing research frameworks, overseeing recruitment, fieldwork, and moderation (when required), and synthesizing findings into actionable strategic insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand client business problems and design appropriate qualitative research approaches (e.g., in-depth interviews, focus groups, ethnographic studies).
  • Develop and validate research tools such as discussion guides, screeners, and stimuli.
  • Liaise with recruitment partners to ensure appropriate respondent profiling and timely scheduling.
  • Supervise fieldwork execution, including interview tracking, quality of transcripts, translation accuracy, and overall data authenticity.
  • Facilitate or moderate interviews/focus groups when needed or guide moderators on moderation timelines and tone.
  • Manage internal stand-ups, partner communication, and periodic updates to clients on progress and initial findings.
  • Lead analysis workshops with the research team—drawing thematic insights, building narratives, and identifying actionable conclusions from transcripts and notes.
  • Drive development and refinement of high-quality final presentations and insight reports tailored for client decision-making.
  • Identify quality improvement areas in the project design and execution. Build playbooks and templates for repeatable excellence.
  • Contribute to innovation in research processes, including remote qualitative methods and platform-enabled engagements.

Requirements 

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in qualitative research project management or client servicing (agency experience preferred).
  • Strong hands-on experience with qualitative fieldwork tools and partners, recruitment design, moderator management, and respondent validation.
  • Exposure to both traditional (offline) and online qualitative formats (e.g., Zoom-based focus groups, digital diaries, online communities).
  • Skilled in writing and refining discussion guides, screening criteria, and detailed field notes.
  • Competence in managing transcript analysis, identifying key themes, behavioural insights, and contradictions in narratives.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with a strong ability to structure reports and presentations.
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Excel; experience with qualitative data synthesis tools
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
