 Use geological data, mine plans, and survey information to develop blast masters, designs, shot timing, and produce patterns as needed for execution. -
<\/div>

<\/div>
 Collaborate with Senior planning engineers to develop blast plans based on equipment capabilities. -
<\/div>

<\/div>
 Continuously evaluate and optimize blasting parameters such as burden/spacing, hole depth/orientation, shot timing, etc., to improve fragmentation and comply with geotechnical pit -wall standards.

<\/div>
 - Ensure plans align with short -, medium -, and long -term strategies and objectives. -
<\/div>

<\/div>
 Develop and take ownership of the blasting sign -off procedure. -
<\/div>

<\/div>
 Actively promote and engage in a proactive safety culture. -
<\/div>

<\/div>
 Be responsible for knowledge transfer and training of other employees within the Technical Department. -
<\/div>

<\/div>
 Deputize for the Chief Mining Engineer when necessary. -
<\/div>

 Senior staff are expected to conduct comprehensive training and development programs for junior staff regularly. This includes facilitating skills development, ensuring effective knowledge transfer, and promoting capacity -building initiatives aligned with organisational goals. The aim is to enhance team growth and efficiency, contributing to the company's overall success.

 Prepare monthly cost reconciliation and forecasting for drill and blast operations. -
<\/div>

<\/div>
 Assist in developing drill & blast budgets and review operational costs against budget as needed. -
<\/div>

<\/div>
 Ensure drill & blast planning complies with safety regulations, environmental standards, SOPS, and company best practices. -
<\/div>

<\/div>
 Always Prioritise safety, ensuring that drill & blast plans support safe production. Identify, report, and collaborate with management to rectify any hazards.
<\/div>

Requirements<\/h3>
Educational Qualification and Experience:
<\/div>
 Minimum BSc. Degree in Mining Engineering.
<\/div>
 5 Years of drill & blast experience in hard -rock, open pit mine operations is strongly preferred.
<\/div>
 Relevant experience in the mining industry which includes experience in large open pit operations utilizing excavators and large trucks.
