The Opportunity

Innovate and Lead – Join our Process and Mine Infrastructure Design team in Vancouver, Mississauga, Calgary, or Edmonton—WSP’s hubs for pipeline engineering and design. In this role, you’ll lead complex mining pipeline projects, applying your expertise to pump station design, pipeline routing, stress analysis, and commissioning. Your work will shape critical infrastructure for mining and resource sectors across Canada and beyond.

Your Impact

  • Drive business development initiatives and build strong client relationships to expand WSP’s pipeline engineering portfolio.
  • Deliver engineering designs for slurry, water, hazardous liquids, and gas pipeline systems from concept through detailed design.
  • Oversee pipeline routing studies, trenchless crossing designs, and stress analysis for station and transport piping.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and cost estimates to support project funding and execution.
  • Manage mid-size projects and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery.
  • Provide field coordination and troubleshooting during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Collaborate with survey, geotechnical, and environmental teams to support right-of-way acquisition and site investigations.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • 15+ years of project engineering experience, including at least 5 years in mining pipeline systems.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering; Professional Engineer accreditation in B.C. or eligibility in other provinces.
  • Proven expertise in slurry rheology, friction loss calculations, and pipeline stress analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes, hazardous materials safety, and pipeline design standards.
  • Experience with trenchless crossing methods (HDD, microtunneling) and pump station design.
  • Skilled in MS Office (Excel), scheduling tools (MS Project or Primavera P6), and flow modeling software.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and proposal preparation for consulting services.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for project needs.

Compensation

BC, AB, SK, NWT & NT: $147,500 – $195,400
MB & ON: $134,600 – $184,600
Atlantic Provinces & QC: $133,200 – $176,900
