Senior Project Manager – Ground -Up Data Center Construction (South Chicago)<\/b>
<\/h2>

<\/p>

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager<\/b> to lead large -scale, ground -up data center construction projects<\/b> in the South Chicago region<\/b>. This role requires deep expertise in site development, structural construction, and mission -critical MEP systems<\/b>, along with strong leadership in managing General Contractors (GCs) on complex, high -value builds.

Key Responsibilities<\/b>
<\/h2>

Ground -Up Construction Leadership<\/b>
<\/h3>
  • Oversee all phases of ground -up data center development<\/b>, including site acquisition readiness, earthwork, utilities installation, foundations, steel erection, exterior envelope, and full build -out.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Ensure seamless coordination from site preparation and civil work<\/b> through structural completion and MEP integration<\/b>.
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Drive fast -track schedules and maintain rigorous quality control across all construction phases.
    <\/p><\/li><\/ul>

    MEP & Mission -Critical Infrastructure Oversight<\/b>
    <\/h3>
    • Supervise installation of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems<\/b>, ensuring mission -critical reliability, performance, and redundancy.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Manage high -voltage systems, switchgear, UPS, generators, CRAC/CRAH units, cooling towers, and chilled water systems.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Validate full MEP coordination with structural and architectural elements, ensuring clear pathways, conflict -free routing, and system commissioning readiness.
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Oversee integrated testing, startup, and turnover of all mission -critical systems.
      <\/p><\/li><\/ul>

      GC & Subcontractor Management<\/b>
      <\/h3>
      • Lead daily coordination with General Contractors<\/b>, trades, and specialty subcontractors to ensure alignment with scope, drawings, and specifications.
        <\/p><\/li>

      • Conduct regular site walks to verify progress, MEP quality, safety compliance, and installation accuracy.
        <\/p><\/li>

      • Hold GCs accountable for manpower planning, sequencing, logistics, and adherence to project milestones.
        <\/p><\/li><\/ul>

        Project Controls & Risk Management<\/b>
        <\/h3>
        • Manage and monitor budgets, schedules, procurement timelines, and change orders.
          <\/p><\/li>

        • Identify risks early, implement mitigation plans, and ensure minimal impact on cost or schedule.
          <\/p><\/li>

        • Maintain strict compliance with safety procedures, building codes, and quality standards throughout the build.
          <\/p><\/li><\/ul>

          Client & Stakeholder Engagement<\/b>
          <\/h3>
          • Serve as the main point of contact for client updates, design coordination, and milestone reporting.
            <\/p><\/li>

          • Provide clear, consistent communication, both on -site and through structured project reporting.
            <\/p><\/li><\/ul>

            Qualifications<\/b>
            <\/h2>
            • 7–10+ years of experience<\/b> managing ground -up data center construction<\/b> projects (required).
              <\/p><\/li>

            • Proven experience delivering large mission -critical facilities with heavy MEP scope<\/b> and complex electrical/mechanical systems.
              <\/p><\/li>

            • Strong background directing General Contractors<\/b> on high -value commercial or mission -critical builds.
              <\/p><\/li>

            • Ability to manage full project lifecycle: sitework, civil, structural, architectural, and full MEP integration.
              <\/p><\/li>

            • Deep knowledge of data center systems, including electrical distribution, HVAC/cooling, redundancy configurations, and commissioning processes.
              <\/p><\/li>

            • Strong leadership, communication, and client -facing skills with a hands -on, on -site management approach.
              <\/p><\/li><\/ul>

              Preferred Qualifications<\/b>
              <\/h2>
              • Experience with multi -phase or hyperscale data center programs.
                <\/p><\/li>

              • Proficiency in construction management platforms (Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, etc.).
                <\/p><\/li>

              • Background in both owner’s representative and GC environments.
                <\/p><\/li><\/ul>
