Job Purpose:
The Special Projects Jr. Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating electrical construction projects with less complexity and with the guidance of a more seasoned PM. This role involves assisting in planning, executing, and completing electrical projects within the established scope, budget, and timeline.
What You'll Do:
- Lead in developing project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for less complex electrical projects.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure project requirements are understood and incorporated into the plan.
- Support the execution of electrical installations, ensuring adherence to industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective measures as necessary.
- Provide support to the project team, including field foremen and support staff.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members.
- Organize and conduct team meetings to discuss project status, address concerns, and provide updates.
- Maintain a comprehensive document control system for project documentation, including plans, drawings, specifications, and change orders.
- Support the review and approval process of project documentation with relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project managers to monitor project budgets, track expenses, and assist in managing change orders.
- Support the finance department in accurate and timely invoicing, payment processes, and financial reporting.
- Contribute to identifying cost-saving opportunities within projects.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trade partners.
- Address stakeholder concerns and support in managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in electrical construction.
- Contribute to identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement in project delivery processes.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably with exposure to electrical projects.
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices is desirable.
- Organization: Ability to assist in developing project plans and ensuring all project components are properly organized and tracked.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively relay information between team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in managing project documents, financials, and tracking details.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify potential issues and contribute to implementing corrective measures during project execution.
- Time Management: Ability to manage timelines and meeting deadlines for various project deliverables.
