The Role:

At Harris Williams, we believe in execution excellence across all disciplines within the firm. We are looking for a Project Manager to join HR and lead cross functional projects focused on key HR business processes. The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of the project, including coordinating team members, managing resources, and communicating with stakeholders. They will develop project plans, monitor progress, ensure project goals are met, manage risks and issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.

The Project Manager will engage with various departments within the firm including C-Suite executives, Compliance, Finance, IT and Marketing while leading projects across the organization. To be successful, the Project Manager must have change management, leadership, relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills.

*This is an in-office role. Light after hour email usage expected.

Core Competencies:

  • Manage 2-3 complex projects simultaneously
  • Select project management tools that best meet the needs of the project team and goals
  • Identify project goals, objectives, scope and create project plans that outline the tasks, timelines and resources required
  • Conducts project meetings and prepares regular updates to communicate the status of projects to stakeholders within and beyond the project team
  • Develop a communication framework for each project to manage stakeholder and team engagement
  • Lead all aspects of intake, tracking and documenting project statuses, deliverables, decisions and milestones
  • Develop an effective network of relationships across Business Operations, HR (Talent) and our banking community
  • Manage risks and issues of the project and monitors progress to ensure the project stays on track
  • Escalate and influence a recommended approach to resolve issues that serve as roadblocks and/or place project objectives at risk.
  • Incorporate change management fundamentals into every project

Job Specific Competencies, Education, and Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and coordinate across geographically distributed teams
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment of changing priorities
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to grasp relationships between issues
  • Record of being resourceful, a problem solver, and a proven self-starter with high tolerance for ambiguity
  • Demonstrated ability to strategize and drive projects to completion
  • Strong ability to adapt and address unique challenges in collaborative and creative ways
  • Displays communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team building skills as well as presentation, influencing, problem-solving and relationship management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field
  • PMP or PMI certification, preferred
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification, preferred
  • 5+ years project management experience
