You will join a highly skilled and dedicated team of engineers and scientists and play a key role in ensuring successful delivery of projects that develop advanced laser systems and accessories for top-tier quantum technology customers.

The Role:

As a member of our Quantum Systems engineering team, you will lead the development, assembly, and testing of custom laser system products and prototypes based on ultra-stable fiber lasers. You interface with sales and support teams to provide updates on product developments and technical advice on customer enquiries as well as assisting with after sales support and repairs/upgrades.

We are passionate about Quantum Technology! If you are enthusiastic about quantum technologies and computing too, in this position you will:

  • Lead and manage technical projects from concept to delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met following NKTPs Product and Prototype development processes

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams of optical, mechanical and electronics engineers, commercial stake holders, and production specialists to achieve project goals

  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external customers, providing clear communication and progress updates.

  • Develop project plans, risk assessments, and resource allocations to ensure smooth execution.

  • Support strategic decision-making by providing insights on project feasibility, technical challenges, and customer requirements.

More about you:

As a strong candidate for this position, we hope that you can tick all or most of the following boxes:

  • A relevant educational qualification (Master level) is required, preferably gained within a photonics research environment

  • Strong background in project management within high-tech or engineering environments (ideally in an industrial context)
  • Experience with complex, multi-disciplinary projects, ideally in photonics, optics, or quantum technologies.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (e.g. PRINCE or similar).
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% annually, potentially globally
