The Position
The purpose of this classification is to provide end to end Telecommunications connectivity with planning, executing, and finalizing projects within approved plans, budgets, and schedules. This position manages contracts, bids, and proposals as well as troubleshoots, installs, and repairs fiber-optic circuits.
Duties
Manages assigned projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all activities, such as contracting, design, product and equipment ordering, project cost, regulatory, construction, testing, close-out, and hand-off to the Customer (internal/external) are effectively and efficiently coordinated, tracked and completed in a timely manner in accordance with the underlying contracts.
Coordinates project status updates in the form of formal briefings, project coordination meetings, written and graphic reports, and work order tickets.
Works closely with the Outside Plant Lead with designing, managing, maintaining, and planning Telecom’s outside infrastructure.
Ensures work safety practices are being adhered to, and compliance is met with federal, state, and local regulations.
Fills in when other outside plant personnel is out or in need assistance to perform, but not limited to service installations, service calls, circuit troubleshooting, or equipment recoups.
Ensures all jobs are entered and maintained in the applicable tracking systems.
Maintains comprehensive, current knowledge and awareness of applicable laws/regulations, new trends and advances in the profession, maintains professional affiliations, reads professional literature, attends workshops and training sessions as appropriate.
Prepares detailed functional and technical specifications from which processes are written.
Supports in the monitoring of implementation progress for compliance with budget and time constraints.
Quotes job construction costs and provide Customer estimates for project build-outs to include material, labor, and equipment.
May be required to work after normal business hours, weekends, and holidays in the event of natural disasters, power outages, personnel shortages, etc., with regular consistent and punctual attendance.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience with provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
