Primary Responsibility: Sales and Business Development responsibility for Japan.

 

The Role and What You’ll Do:

 

  • Assume responsibility for the sale of IMG Media’s catalogue into Japan.

  • This would include: -

o   Define an overall strategy for IMG Media in Japan.

    • Responsible for identifying and analyzing new business opportunities by forging close relationships with all relevant media companies, local sports federations in the territories including but not limited to event opportunities, consulting, digital streaming, talent representation etc.

    • Understanding the value of respective sports properties under IMG Media’s management.

    • Defining tactical and strategic plans to maximize the value of the relationships to IMG Media and/or its clients.

    • Pitching the properties, negotiating terms and ultimately taking the commercial process through to fully executed legal documentation and payment received.

    • Liaison with core in-house functions, including the Legal and Finance departments, to transact all agreements through to completion.

    • Using, where necessary, in-house systems to document sales progress, input the key commercial terms of agreements and manage forward-looking projected sales, as directed by IMG Media management.

    • Working with colleagues or related departments both within IMG Media and Events and also in the wider group to help support and drive towards objectives.

    • Communicate with IMG colleagues around the world, to help understand the client product offering, liaise on progress and jointly navigate towards objectives.

    • Ongoing communication with other IMG Media Commercial Executives to understand and refine best practice.

    • Prepare regular updates for IMG Media senior management as well as supporting with new business strategy and implementation.

    • Ongoing management of customer relationships, including assistance in liaison on delivery of content, project management and dispute resolution.

    • Support of other executives who are leading discussions with key media entities.

  • Contribute towards the overall divisional growth through business development initiatives conducted locally through a variety of means.

  • Having an entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit, within the direction of the overall divisional strategy.

  • Help support client relationships into the region, including collating market information, sales information, recent developments and helping to educate clients on an ongoing basis.

  • Able to negotiate within a contractual construct, understanding key parameters and working within them.

  • Other duties that are within the scope of the role may be required.
