As the Area Manager – Drilling & Blasting, you will lead drilling and blasting operations within an assigned region, serving as the key link between field teams, customers, and company leadership. You will own scheduling, problem-solving, teammate development, and overall productivity and profitability for your area.
What You’ll Do
Safety Leadership
- Lead by example and serve as the safety subject matter expert for your region
- Ensure compliance with MSHA, state, and federal regulations, and Two Eight safety policies
- Conduct safety meetings/toolbox talks and regular site visits to reinforce a safety-first culture
- Report incidents, near-misses, and corrective actions promptly
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead a team of approximately 10–20 teammates (drillers, blasters, helpers, site manager)
- Coach, mentor, and develop teammates; recognize strong performance and address performance gaps
- Conduct monthly 1:1s and field audits
- Build a culture of teamwork and accountability aligned with Two Eight values
Productivity & Scheduling
- Own daily and weekly scheduling for drilling and blasting teams
- Coordinate proactively with customers to keep crews working consistently
- Remove barriers to productivity (equipment, staffing, logistics) and plan downtime strategically
Fleet & Equipment
- Ensure equipment is maintained and cleaned to company standards and customer expectations
- Coordinate repairs with maintenance and verify preventive maintenance is completed on schedule
Customer Relationships
- Serve as the single point of contact for customer communication in your region
- Build strong relationships with quarry leadership and resolve issues quickly and professionally
- Participate in customer meetings and provide feedback on market/operational opportunities
Profitability & Reporting
- Monitor financial performance and drive efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment
- Track consumable use and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Submit schedules/reports and approve timesheets and production/admin data as required
What We’re Looking For
Required Experience & Competencies
- 5+ years in mining, drilling, blasting, or related field operations
- Proven leadership experience managing field-based teams
- Strong understanding of drilling and blasting processes and equipment
- Effective communicator who can balance safety, productivity, and profitability with sound judgment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn company systems
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Outdoor job sites; uneven terrain; active quarry environments
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping; lifting up to 50 lbs
- Field visits and safety inspections across multiple job sites

Location/Territory: Western Oklahoma
Residency Requirement: This position requires residency in the Davis/Stigler area of Oklahoma (or willingness to relocate).
Travel: Regular travel within the assigned territory is required.
