Description

Job Summary:

  • Liaison between the Project Manager and the workers engaged in new construction Shingle roofing, metal roofing, gutter installation and maintenance of existing roofing systems

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No direct reports but indirectly oversees subcontractors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Visits the project sites to determine if the scope of work is being followed. 
  • Assists in ordering materials, ensuring on time deliveries and order accuracy
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assist Project Manager to ensure completion of work on time.
  • Operates equipment such as forklifts. 
  • Attend weekly Production and Staff meetings, report on progress, quality, and production activity for the week.
  • Sources and recruits Metal Crews. 
  • Pre/Post-Inspection of jobs to ensure quality
  • Relays company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations. 
  • Relays job orders and reassigns duties if necessary. 
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. 
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. 
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems; assists workers in solving work problems
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. 
  • Thorough understanding of construction industry safety and health laws, regulations and policies.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Forklift certification is preferred

Education and Experience:

  • 3 years of construction experience. 
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. 
  • Technical knowledge of roofing is highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Employees are required to lift a maximum of 80 pounds safely; following proper lifting techniques. For any items exceeding 80 pounds or items that are awkward, bulky, or difficult to handle, employees must use team lifts or approved mechanical lifting devices.
  • Must be able to climb ladder and traverse roof at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in various types of weather.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk or in a vehicle and working on a computer.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend and perform moderate travel.
