BMS Project Manager 


Position: BMS Project Manager

Location: East - Ipswich

Reports To: Director of Projects 


Job Summary

Learnd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced BMS Project Manager to oversee and manage multiple BMS projects in the Ipswich areas. The ideal project manager will come from a BMS engineering background, have extensive experience with Trend and either Schneider, Siemens, and/or Tridium systems, and have worked in a building management systems environment.


Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Management

  • Develop comprehensive project plans to ensure successful delivery of BMS projects.
  • Creation of the project design technical submissions.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless execution.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Assist in defining project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress.

Client and Stakeholder Management

  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients, third parties/vendors, and all project stakeholders.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.

Technical Expertise and Oversight

  • Provide technical direction and support for project team members.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of BMS systems to ensure project success.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry standards.
  • Oversee the integration of HVAC, lighting, security, and other systems into the BMS.

Team Leadership

  • Lead project teams, manage day-to-day project activities, and ensure team members have the tools they need to succeed.
  • Delegate project tasks based on team members' strengths, skill sets, and experience levels.
  • Track project performance to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals.

Quality Assurance

  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Meet with clients to take detailed briefs and clarify specific project requirements.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.

Qualifications /Experience:

  • Proven working experience in project management within the BMS environment.
  • Solid technical background with hands-on experience in Trend and either Schneider, Siemens and/or Tridium systems.

Skills:

  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  • Strong IT skills and proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., MS Project).
  • Possess a positive, proactive mindset focused on problem solving and collaboration with teams and clients alike.

Certifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus.
  • BMS-specific certifications (e.g., Trend, Tridium, BCIA01,02 & 03) are highly advantageous.
  • Electrical safety awareness training.
