The Role Day-to-Day

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced C4I Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivery of a military vehicle integration project, working closely with a higly skilled team of engineers, and ensuring the project is on time, budget and to the required specifications.

The C4I Project Manager will work closely with engineers and other project team members to ensure that work packages are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. General responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to achieve great project outcomes, navigate and resolve issues, provide advice and guidance, and draw on your experience delivering complex projects
  • Manage the project scope, work breakdown structure, schedule (in MS Project), and progress reporting against the agreed milestones
  • Ensure all stakeholders are managed and embrace a transparent, open, and collaborative communication style with the customer
  • Identify, mitigate, and monitor risks, opporunities and issues in a timely way
  • Liaise with engineers, technical trades, procurement and finance, to ensure project needs are clearly articulated and exert influence on others without direct authority
  • Manage the contract, including contract changes, tracking the baseline and ensuring any updates to the schedule and costs are understood and reported
  • Monthly reporting to the senior management team, and regular progress meetings with the customer, and other stakeholders as required

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or the equivalent experience in a related delivery field
  • At least 7 years of experience in project management, with a focus on communication, risk management, and delivery in a defence environment
  • Strong understanding of C4/communications, ICT, or electronic systems, ideally in a military vehicle or land domain context
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, design, and product development lifecycle, including Agile software development and ASDEFCON (preferred), ISO, PMBoK or PRINCE2
  • Experience with MS 365 suite including MS Project
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead a team of people with a range of skills and experience levels
  • A current or previously held Australian security clearance (Baseline or above)
  • Ability to work with ITAR and export controlled technologies
