CEFCU member service team members are critical to the success of the credit union. They provide a professional, knowledgeable, and caring experience when members contact us. We are looking for individuals who are personable, articulate, and positive to add to our already awesome team!

The Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) solicits mortgage product referrals by calling/meeting with realtors, builders, and Select Employer Groups (SEG) as assigned. Presents the features and benefits of all CEFCU mortgage products/services. Pre-qualifies members for mortgage loans, completes applications, and cross-sells other CEFCU products/services to meet member needs. Communicates with members, realtors, and underwriters on the status of pending applications and assists to obtain information needed to complete and fund loans. Communicates with Member Center Management/staff as necessary. Analyzes member applications, assesses member goals and objectively recommends the best product to meet the member’s needs. Interviews applicants over the phone as well as in person. The individual actively participates in and is held accountable for the attainment of individual and departmental/organizational goals. The ability to make clear and concise notes at every point of contact is critical for this position.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registration (NMLS) to comply with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act).
  • Must possess a current, valid driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and personal vehicle insurance.
  • Previous lending experience of at least 2 years required.
  • Excellent member communication and service skills are required.
  • Proven record of sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to maintain highest level of accuracy under on-going peak volume conditions.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree.
  • Mortgage lending experience of at least 2 years.
  • Proven business development experience.

Summary Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $30.79 - $36.16.

Compensation offered may vary based on skills and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at CEFCU.
