Commercial Irrigation Technician

Mill Brothers Landscape Group is a second-generation, family-owned company with over 45 years of experience shaping outdoor spaces across Northern Colorado. As our team continues to grow, we are seeking a skilled and dependable Commercial Irrigation Technician to join our maintenance division. This full-time, year-round position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing irrigation systems across a variety of commercial properties while upholding Mill Brothers’ standards for quality, safety, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform seasonal irrigation system activations, inspections, repairs, and winterizations.
- Troubleshoot and repair irrigation components, including valves, heads, mainlines, wiring, and controllers.
- Program, adjust, and document all types of irrigation controllers to ensure proper system operation and efficiency.
- Conduct monthly irrigation audits to identify leaks, coverage issues, and areas for improvement.
- Accurately complete daily electronic paperwork, including timesheets, service notes, and billing information.
- Assist in training and supporting less experienced technicians in the field.
- Maintain clear communication with Account Managers and Division Manager regarding job progress and customer needs.
- Professionally represent Mill Brothers Landscape Group on all client properties.
- Participate in snow removal operations during the winter season.
- Rotate in as the on-call technician for week-long service shifts.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support company goals.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in irrigation service, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to manage and repair irrigation systems independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience reading and interpreting irrigation and landscape plans.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and 75 lbs occasionally.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Familiarity with advanced irrigation control systems (Hunter, Rain Bird, Baseline, etc.).
- Valid Colorado driver’s license with an insurable driving record (required).
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Pay:
$25.00 – $33.00 per hour DOE
- Paid Vacation:
10 days (prorated) per calendar year with annual accrual
- Paid Sick Time:
48 hours annually
