About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established commercial painting contractor with a strong reputation across the Southeast, is seeking an experienced Commercial Paint Project Manager to join their growing team in the Charlotte market. This role is ideal for a driven and detail-oriented professional with a solid background in managing large-scale commercial paint projects, overseeing field teams, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and general contractors.

This is a high-impact position that offers the chance to manage multiple ongoing projects while playing a critical role in the continued growth of the company in one of the fastest-growing construction markets in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead commercial painting projects from preconstruction through closeout across the greater Charlotte area

  • Ensure project profitability, risk management, and performance across multiple job sites

  • Serve as the primary liaison with general contractors, developers, and property owners

  • Supervise and support field crews, foremen, and project coordinators

  • Collaborate with the estimating team to review bids and project scopes

  • Maintain project schedules, budgets, and production goals to ensure timely and successful delivery

  • Uphold strict adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards

  • Provide input on process improvements, staffing, and operational strategies

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial painting project management

  • Demonstrated success managing large commercial paint projects ($500k – $1M+)

  • Strong technical knowledge of painting scopes, coatings, materials, and production practices

  • Proven leadership and communication skills with a client-service mindset

  • Solid experience with budget tracking, cost forecasting, and project controls

  • Proficiency with project management software such as Procore, Microsoft Project, or similar tools

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred but not required

  • Local knowledge of the Charlotte market is a strong plus
