Key Responsibilities
• Operate directional drilling equipment to install underground utilities in accordance with project plans and specifications
• Set up and maintain drilling rigs, support equipment, and job sites to ensure safe and efficient operations
• Read and interpret utility maps, plans, and job specifications to determine drill path and locate existing utilities
• Mix and handle drilling fluids and perform basic maintenance on equipment
• Assist with potholing, trenching, and other excavation methods to verify utility locations
• Maintain accurate records of drilling activities, materials used, and project progress
• Ensure compliance with all PURIS safety protocols and industry standards
Qualifications
• Previous experience operating directional drills for underground utility installation
• Working knowledge of utility construction methods and safe digging practices
• Ability to operate and maintain drilling rigs and support equipment
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks
• Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills
