Position Overview
The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all engineering operations within the hotel, ensuring that facilities, systems, and furniture assets are maintained efficiently and cost-effectively. This role oversees daily maintenance, implements preventative maintenance programs, supports administrative functions, and serves as the primary stakeholder for hotel furniture maintenance. The Engineering Project Manager also facilitates effective communication with guests, vendors, and internal teams to ensure a seamless operation and a quality guest experience.


Key Responsibilities:


Oversee and Coordinate Engineering Operations

  • Manage daily building and grounds maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and hotel furniture assets.
  • Serve as the main stakeholder for all furniture maintenance across the hotel, taking ownership of furniture condition, repairs, preventive maintenance, and vendor coordination for guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
  • Supervise routine and special engineering projects to ensure timely and quality completion.


Implement Preventative Maintenance Programs

  • Develop, monitor, and implement preventative maintenance programs for hotel systems, equipment, and furniture.
  • Schedule regular inspections and maintenance to minimize downtime and extend the life of assets.


Manage Records and Schedules

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, service logs, schedules, and vendor contacts.
  • Coordinate work orders, purchase orders, and maintenance calendars.


Communicate with Guests and Other Departments

  • Respond to guest inquiries related to engineering, maintenance, and furniture needs.
  • Liaise with hotel departments to ensure effective communication and collaboration on all maintenance and furniture-related matters.


Assist with Special Projects

  • Support the Director of Engineering with a variety of projects, including procurement, vendor management, and administrative tasks.


Maintain a Clean and Organized Work Environment

  • Ensure engineering office and work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with hotel standards.


Ensure Compliance with Regulations and Standards

  • Adhere to safety regulations, fire safety protocols, and internal hotel policies.
  • Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.


Troubleshoot and Repair Equipment

  • Diagnose and repair issues with hotel equipment, facilities, systems, and furniture, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and furnishings.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with guests, staff, and vendors.
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing records, schedules, and documentation.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and technical aptitude for troubleshooting maintenance and furniture issues.
  • Basic understanding of hotel operations, building systems, and maintenance processes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a hospitality engineering or maintenance environment preferred.
