Industrial Refrigeration Technician
Location: Immingham
We are looking for a qualified industrial Refrigeration Technician to join the team of one of the largest producers of industrial gas in the world. Ideally with experience of CO2 recovery and industry associated electrical control systems, this is an exciting, newly created, opportunity for a technician to join a first-class organisation and a great team. Your primary role as the industrial refrigeration technician will be the maintenance of critical refrigeration and CO2 recovery systems at production and storage facilities along with support for small pressure control systems at customer sites. Key Responsibilities:
Installation and maintenance of industrial refrigeration and CO2 recovery systems.
Secondary responsibility is to support the wider business within the UK and Ireland.
Required to work on Nippon production, storage and customer sites in the UK & Ireland.
Must be prepared to travel extensively throughout both countries, including staying away from home for several days at a time.
To manage and promote current H&S legislation on all activities.
Planned maintenance of refrigeration and CO2 recovery systems in line with manufacturers and statutory requirements as well as unplanned/breakdown maintenance to ensure plant uptime and efficiency remains optimal.
Prompt identification of problems such as refrigerant leaks, electrical failures, or mechanical breakdowns, including implementing effective repair solutions.
Safe use of various types of refrigerants used in systems and compliance with strict regulations regarding their handling and disposal.This includes recovering refrigerants during repairs and ensuring that systems are charged correctly.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify issues, provide estimates for repairs and recommendations on system upgrades or replacements to improve efficiency.
Support the Operations department in the planning and execution of routine and breakdown maintenance of Bulk Gas installations/Production and Storage facilities at both Nippon and customer owned sites.
Qualifications & Experience:
NVQ level 3 or equivalent in refrigeration engineering
Relevant experience in industrial refrigeration maintenance
Demonstrated knowledge of Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR) and Fluorinated Gas (F-Gas)
Electrical awareness with knowledge of associated electrical systems
Relevant experience in plant maintenance
Demonstrated experience in working with safe systems of work with sound engineering practices
Demonstrated knowledge of current H&S legislation
F-Gas handling certificate
Valid driving licence
