Industrial Refrigeration Technician - Refrigeration - Base Salary to 55.00/hour - Newark, NJ
Our client, a non union industrial refrigeration company going on 40 years in business is seeking an Industrial Refrigeration Technician to help in the food processing and cold storage industries.
Typical day is being on a rotational on call schedule taking service calls, working on PM agreements, and/or installations. Most of their work schedule is between 6-3PM with an occasional overnight stay if out of state.
Responsibilities:
Understanding of water/glycol chillers, rack system/parallel refrigeration systems as well as comfortable replacing components to include pumps, fans, fan coils, terminals, PTAC, heat pumps, etc. heating and cooling HVAC/R equipment maintenance tasking and/or installation requirements
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, equipment specifications, mechanical, and electrical codes and regulations.
Certified and perform refrigerant recovery and reclamation from refrigeration systems per EPA regulations.
Ability to maintain adequate truck stock per company inventory control procedures.
Understanding of how to perform equipment installation and maintenance tasking procedures per company and industry practice procedures.
AC/DC electrical and HVAC/R equipment components.
Understanding of refrigerant piping installation procedures.
Must have understanding of installation and/or equipment maintenance service specialty tools (i.e., bender, charging equipment, and power tools over 2hp).
Understanding of installation and operation of HVAC/R equipment.
Pneumatic and/or Direct Digital Control operation and/or maintenance tasking procedures.
Must have understanding of the use of hand signals to direct crane or lift operators during load lifting and placement.
Understand how to perform troubleshooting procedures on HVAC/R equipment.
Ability to provide service estimates and quotes to clients for minor service work per Company procedures.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma; technical degree is a plus.
3+ years of hands-on experience in the industrial/commercial refrigeration industry.
Ability to read/interpret blueprints, equipment specs, and mechanical/electrical codes & regulations.
Must be certified relating to EPA regulations
Ability to travel to CT, NY with some overnight stays.
Technician will have their own tools
Compensation:
Base salary to 55.00/hour
