POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Provide supervision and technical support in the operation, service and repair of golf course, and clubhouse irrigation systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Provides exceptional guest service to both external and internal guests by maintaining and exhibiting the We-Ko-Pa Way Service Standards: Smile and Greet, name and Meet, Thank You and Goodbye.
• Performs maintenance and repair of all golf course and clubhouse irrigation components; pump station, sprinklers heads, satellite controllers, valves, etc.
• Inspect daily the pumps station, recording daily water usage, monitoring fertigation system and filters. Inspect daily the entire golf course for areas of concern, wet areas, dry areas, and potential problems.
• Under the direct supervision and consultation with The Golf Course Superintendent, responsible for proper watering techniques used on all turf; including hand / spot watering, landscaping irrigation, and operation of main computer system.
• Maintain inventory and advise when ordering supplies are needed. Keep irrigation parts room, and pump station clean and orderly at all times.
• Must be able to maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees and departments. Must work effectively and efficiently with or without direct supervision.
• Perform functions of subordinate classifications when assigned.
• An avid interest in golf is helpful
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics as related to irrigation systems. Should be familiar with the Rain Bird Cirrus computer irrigation system
• Working towards a degree in a turf related field. General knowledge of golf course maintenance operations, including operation of golf course equipment and cultural practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively; speak, read and write English.
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise employees as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent or the Assistant Superintendent.

The job requires the ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, squat stoop, reach, twist, climb and lift 50 pounds. Exposure to extreme noise, outdoors, confining work space, electrical hazards, vibration, dust, and mechanical hazards.
